Request for Recommendation
At DREAM, we are proud to support the future success of our Counselors in Training (CITs) and Counselors. We understand that experiences at camp can be valuable for volunteer requirements, job applications, and college entrance packets. If you have served as a CIT or Counselor with DREAM and would like a letter of recommendation or character reference, we are happy to provide one for you! You can email your request to hello@dreamct.org.
How to Request a Recommendation Letter
To ensure that we can write a detailed and personalized letter, please reach out to us within 12 months of the camp session you worked. This helps us to reflect accurately on your contributions and achievements during your time with us.
When emailing your request, please include the following information to help us craft a recommendation that highlights your strengths and experiences:
- Full Name and Camp Session(s): Let us know the camp session(s) you participated in, including the role you held (CIT, Junior Counselor, or Senior Counselor).
- Purpose of the Recommendation: Are you using this letter for a job, college application, volunteer requirement, or something else?
- Skills and Qualities to Highlight: Tell us about any specific skills, qualities, or accomplishments you would like us to emphasize. This can include leadership, teamwork, problem-solving, creativity, or other strengths you demonstrated at camp.
- Relevant Experiences: Feel free to share specific examples from your time at camp that you think stand out or that you’d like us to mention.
- Contact Information and Deadline: Make sure to include your contact details and let us know when you need the letter by. We recommend submitting your request at least 3 weeks before your deadline to give us ample time to prepare the letter.
Turnaround Time
Once we receive your request, please allow 2-3 weeks for us to write and send your recommendation letter. If you have any questions or need further assistance, don’t hesitate to reach out.
